TOURING EXHIBITION GROUP
MARKETPLACE 2000 |
| TEG Marketplace 2000, the second annual marketplace to be sponsored by Panelock Systems Limited, was held at the Guildhall in Bath on 21st September. |

This year's host organisation, the Victoria Art Gallery, provided a sumptuous setting for the Marketplace in the magnificent Banqueting Room of the Guildhall, with its 18th century chandeliers by William Parker and large collection of royal portraits from the Victoria Art Gallery. To enable stand holders to display information about their exhibitions on offer to the best advantage, Panelock Systems Limited erected their free standing Gallery Display System 200. A variety of modules, including showcase units, were
utilised, allowing delegates to view System 200 "in the flesh", examine its stability and versatility and discuss display problems and issues with Panelock representatives. Panelock also chose the TEG Marketplace 2000 to launch its new Gallery Display System 200 lighting units - on display for the first time.
The day commenced with an informal marketplace session where delegates could circulate freely and view the range of exhibitions on offer. From comments received it is clear that this allowed invaluable networking opportunities, promoted information on a wide variety of touring exhibitions and, with TEG representatives on hand to advise on any touring exhibition and display matters, provided a diversity of expertise and experience and promoted awareness of important issues. An afternoon discussion session afforded the opportunity for debate on topical issues relating to regional, national and international touring.
TEG Marketplace 2000, as previous marketplaces, encompassed exhibitions of all shapes, sizes and subjects and offered the opportunity for all involved in organising or receiving touring exhibitions to make new contacts, exchange ideas and discover fresh shows, as well as renew old friendships, in a relaxed and informal environment. As such, it is an event with which Panelock Systems was happy to be associated.
