Panelock System 400 Installation

The Panelock Display System 400 requires the installation of a lightweight non-load bearing aluminium overhead guide track fixed to an existing ceiling or soffit, if the height of a gallery is excessive a lightweight support system is designed to lower the guide track to a suitable height, this installation can be left in mill finish aluminium or painted to blend in with the existing finishes.  The design of the overhead guide track can accommodate suspended ceilings and support lighting systems in addition to security cameras and VDUs which can be moved around the track ensuring absolute security cover for each different exhibition layout.

Panelock System 400The System 400 display panels are a simple, re-locatable, composite panel of aluminium / timber framework usually faced both sides with 15 mm MDF boards and normally finished with white emulsion or similar.  Within each panel is a unique patented mechanism which incorporates castor wheels, one each end of the panel, this mechanism is operated by a removable key.  At the head of the panel is a retractable seal which incorporates a mushroom headed spigot.

During installation, the spigot is engaged in the overhead guide track via special removable entry sections.

To operate the system, the removable operating key is inserted into the operating key hole which is located at skirting level and turned from a position of 2 O'clock to approximately 10 O'clock, the panel will rise from the floor on the castor wheels, at the same time the retractable seal at the head of the panel closes into the panel and the mechanism automatically locks the panel in this position ready for moving. The operating key can now be removed.  To relocate the panel, simply wheel the panel along the floor in line with the track, the spigot which is engaged in the overhead guide track ensures the panels stability.

When the panel has been repositioned and this can be at any position through 360º to the track, the operating key is inserted at 10 O'clock and turned to 2 O'clock, the panel will now lower to the floor, at the same time the retractable seal expands and thrusts to the underside of the overhead guide track, locking the panel in its new display position firmly between floor and track.
