The Touring Exhibitions Group (TEG)
TEG
is
the independent membership organisation open to everyone who tours exhibitions as a way of
sharing ideas, materials and resources.
TEG aims to improve the status, provision and standards of touring
exhibitions of all types; from fine art to science and technology, and from all public and
private sources. It is interested in touring them as widely as possible - regionally,
nationally and internationally - to promote awareness, knowledge and enjoyment of
historical and contemporary culture.
With the help of Panelock’s sponsorship, TEG
produces "X",
a twice-yearly exhibitions listing. Panelock’s
sponsorship
over three years also brings a welcome degree of continuity and security
to TEG Marketplaces. These Marketplaces assist face-to-face networking
between makers and takers of exhibitions and facilitate local as well as
national collaborations. Marketplaces have been held in Cardiff in 1995,
Edinburgh in 1996, Croydon in 1997, Nottingham in 1999,
Bath
in 2000,
and Carlisle in 2001.
TEG is independent and membership is open to anyone who tours
exhibitions as a way of sharing ideas, materials and resources. The membership is its
strength, giving it force in its representations and campaigns, bringing a diversity of
expertise and an awareness of different issues, and providing each member with ready
access to people involved in touring. Membership
subscriptions for 2002-2003 are £35 for institutions and £25 for
individuals working freelance. If you wish to know more about TEG and its
activities, please contact Mike Sixsmith at am6smith@cwcom.net.
